The industrialist of the Iberian Pedro Mallo, elected Businessman of the Year 2013
Pedro Mallo, Manager of Jamones y Embutidos Mallo, was chosen yesterday as the Extremeño Entrepreneur of the Year 2013. The awards that the EXTREMADURA PERIODIC organizes each year and sponsors Telefónica reached their majority at a gala held at the Hotel Fontecruz Cáceres attended by 400 guests, including the President of the Government of Extremadura, José Antonio Monago, and the main directors of GRUPO ZETA, the publishing company of this newspaper.
Pedro Mallo has been involved in the company of his father since childhood and when he finished his law studies he decided to stay in his land to create wealth. The modest company of Iberian pork derivatives was growing since he took over.
Pedroso de Acím moved to Cañaveral where he has built modern facilities with 17 workers, the highest technology and a production capacity of 400 pigs per week.
The turnover of Mallo Hams and Sausages exceeds 2 million euros per year. It works under standards of quality and respect for the environment, in addition to having part of its production covered under the Protected Designation of Origin Dehesa de Extremadura.
Despite the current crisis, the company has increased its staff with the creation of a position of Quality Manager and participates in important research and development projects.
